Telecom Italia Seeks to Enforce Position in Argentine Market

Telecom Italia is looking to enforce its position in the Argentine market, where it is in dispute with local partner group Werthein, Agencia EFE reports. The Italian incumbent has indicated that it is going to exercise its right to buy back Grupo Werthein's 48% stake in investment vehicle Sofora SA, which indirectly controls Telecom Argentina as a result of a 54.74% participation in the regional incumbent and in which Telecom Italia controls a further 50%.
